Choosing a dog sitter can be a stressful endeavor. I know the issue from both sides. Here’s some info about me. Please message me if you have any questions. I care for dogs full-time and am always available by phone, text, or email.
My professional background
I’ve hosted dogs in my homes since 1982. What started as fostering, became post-op care, postpartum care for exhausted moms who gave birth in shelters or were abandoned at a vet’s office, and then full-time boarding and day care for dogs in all stages of life, including special needs.
I volunteer with Shelter2Rescue Coalition, part of the No Kill Coalition. I'm an approved foster home for TexasGSP, schnauzer, golden, Brittany, Aussie, and doodle rescues. I sometimes have a foster dog as well as my own two dogs, and 2-3 guests, on average. My goal is a small, safe pack in which each dog gets individual attention and goes home relaxed and eager to return.
I offer a fun and safe host home for your dogs when you're on vacation or traveling for work, daycare for socialization and exercise, or devoted care for seniors/special needs who need extra attention.
You don’t need to worry about your dog being left out in the heat or not having a sweater when it’s cold. The indoor sunroom is heated and air conditioned and filled with various beds/rugs and open crates so all dogs’ preferences are respected, including those who want to hang out of my lap or on windowsills to check out the action in the front or backyard. There are 4 sofas throughout the house that are available to my canine guests.
Dogs can go in/out throughout the day, depending on the weather and their preferences/needs ... BUT, small dogs never go outside without me or my own dogs as escort.
I have a large house that allows me to introduce dogs at a relaxed pace (1 on 1) and separate dogs by size and energy, when needed. Senior and special needs dogs may have their own suite (aka the “senior center”). My clients tell me that their dogs are happy and relaxed when they’re picked up, and get excited when they realize they’re coming back to my house for another vacay.
I’m flexible with dates and last-minute bookings. Even if you don’t have a trip planned at this time, it’s best to do a meet & greet ahead of time so I can accommodate any last-minute requests. Rates are flexible if you need frequent bookings.
Safety is always primary, so I don't board large/muscular/alpha dogs that may be too strong for me to control. I do have several sweet golden/lab/border collie regulars that are over 80 lbs. No breed prejudice; just common sense. If in doubt, message me, please.
I’m a native of the Bronx, NY, but have been in Texas since college. I have a bachelor’s degree in political science/paralegal studies from UT Arlington and a certificate in biblical counseling from Dallas Bible College. I’m a retired book editor and a member of Rush Creek Church.
My hobbies include reading, vacuuming, and power mopping.
Area I service
I’m located off of Hwy 287 and Turner Warnell, on the Arlington/Mansfield border, in a quiet, low-traffic subdivision. I serve Wag Time clients in Arlington, Mansfield, Fort Worth, Grand Prairie, Midlothian, Waxahachie, Rendon, and Burleson (I’m on the way to the airport for many people who live on the “southside”).
